This new holiday for 2017 sees us travel to one of the highlights of Irelands South West, West Cork and the charming harbour town of Bantry. In the same area are the gardens on Garnish Island and the rugged beauty of the Mizen Peninsula.
This morning we depart early and travel through Wales to Fishguard where we join the ferry to take us across the Irish Sea to Rosslare before we continue to our first stop in Waterford and our overnight hotel.D
After breakfast we join our coach and travel via the town of Cahir before we arrive in Bantry and our hotel.B, D
This morning we have a leisurely breakfast before joining our coach to travel to Ireland's most southerly point Mizen Head located on the Mizen Peninsula. We travel through wild scenery and small villages to reach Mizen Head from where (weather permitting) you may be able to spot the Fastnet Rock off the coast known as Ireland's Teardrop.B, D
Today we travel through this areas' rugged landscape before arriving at Glengarriff to catch the passenger ferry to Garnish Island and the gardens of Ilnacurin. The gardens play host to a multitude of plant variations and its unusual micro climate allows a range of exotic subtropical plant species to flourish, plus there are a number of walks and interesting buildings on the island. A restaurant on the island also serves light lunches and general refreshments.
(We would like to advise our passenger that a ramp must be used to board the ferry).
After breakfast we say our farewells to our hotel and Bantry and return along the South coast road to the famous seaport of Cobh which was the last port of ill-fated ship the Titanic. We continue through the Irish countryside to Wexford and our hotel
We make an early start from Wexford this morning and travel to Rosslare for the ferry back to Fishguard. On our arrival we continue back to your joining points.B
