A perfect location for a short break staying at Sandown on the Isle of Wight.
This holiday takes us across the waters of the Solent and to the popular holiday destination of the Isle of Wight, but more particular the resort of Shanklin. The island is often referred to as England in Miniature and has become a favourite destination of our clients.
Day 1
We join our coach from your joining points and travel through the English countryside to Portsmouth, with a lunch stop en route. On our arrival in Portsmouth we catch the ferry that takes us across the Solent before we continue by coach to Sandown and our hotel.
DDay 2
After breakfast we travel along the "Military Road", which is the road that runs along the south coast of the island. We stop at the Isle of Wight Pearl for a short break before we continue onto Alum Bay well known for its coloured sand. Afterwards we continue to the quaint village of Godshill for a short stop before returning to our hotel.
B, DDay 3
Today after breakfast we travel across the island to Osborne House the former family retreat of Queen Victoria. Highlights of the visit will include the private apartments, the Indian decor of the Durbur room and outside there is the Swiss Cottage a chalet built for the royal children. Plus there are extensive views across the Solent to the mainland.
B, DDay 4
This morning after breakfast is a free day to explore the resort of Sandown or Shanklin and possibly take a walk into the old village area of Shanklin.
B, DDay 5
After breakfast we say farewell to our hotel and the Isle of Wight and cross the Solent back to the mainland, where we continue back to your joining point.
