Kent Discovery

Known as the "Garden of England", Kent is where we travel on two restored railways and visit delightful market towns.

On this holiday we travel through the Ashdown Forest which AA Milne used to imagine scenes for the Winnie the Pooh stories, visit the histroic town of Royal Tunbridge Wells. We visit the seafront town of Brighton which is known for its seafront, the pier, the Pavillion and its historic old quarter, plus the  town of Tenterden where we join our train for the scenic ride on the Kent & East Sussex railway before continuing to the picturesque town of Rye with its iconic clapboard cottages.

Day 1

A morning departure sees us travel to the South East with a lunch break en route arriving in time for our evening meal.


Day 2

After breakfast we travel into East Grinstead where we board the train on the Bluebell Railway and travel to Sheffield Park. Here we rejoin our coach and travel through the Ashdown Forest which AA Milne used to imagine scenes for his Winnie the Pooh books before we arrive in the historic town of Royal Tunbridge Wells for a short visit.

Day 3

This morning we travel to the ancient town of Lewes which is known for its bookshops, afterwards we continue onto the seaside town of Brighton which is famous for its seafront and historic old quarter.

Day 4

Today we depart the hotel and travel to Bodiam where we board the Kent & East Sussex Railway for a ride through the countryside to the ancient town of Tenterden. There will be some free time here before rejoining our coach and travel to the picturesque town of Rye with its famous iconic clapboard cottages.
We rejoin the coach and travel back to our hotel.

Day 5

We say farewell to our hotel after breakfast and travel across the English countryside with a lunch stop en route before arriving back at your joining points.

Hotel details: Crowne Plaza Hotel, Felbridge.

This four star hotel is located five miles from the town of East Grinstead.

Its facilities include an indoor pool, gym and spa and the bedrooms are ensuite with hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

Please note the hotel does not have a lift.
