The Lake District deserves its title as a UNESCO world heritage site with its awe inspiring scenery. On this holiday we enjoy a boat cruise on Ullswater Lake and take two journeys on heritage railways including the very scenic Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway.
Day 1
We depart this morning and travel to our hotel in Grange Over Sands arriving late afternoon.
DDay 2
Today we travel to the Northern Lakes area where we stop at the town of Keswick. After a break we continue our journey to Pooley Bridge where we join our Lake Steamer for a scenic sail to Glenridding at the southern end of the lake. We join our coach for the scenic road journey through and down the Kirkstone Pass before continuing back to our hotel and our evening meal.
B, DDay 3
After breakfast we travel the short distance to the village of Haverthwaite where we join our train for the journey to the southern end of Lake Windermere. On our arrival we transfer from the train to the boat for a scenic sail along Lake Windermere to the town of Bowness on Windermere. After some free time we join the coach for the journey back to our hotel.
B, DDay 4
This morning we travel to the village of Ravenglass on the werstern side of the National park. Here we join our train for the journey up the Eskdale Valley to the station of Dalegarth. After enjoying a return journey viewing fabulous scenery we travel by coach to Muncaster Castle where this haunted castle houses the Hawk & Owl Centre. After an enjoyable day out we travel by our coach back to our hotel.
B, DDay 5
We leave after breakfast and make our journey home with a lunch stop enroute arriving back late afternoon.

This AA rated three star hotel is set in twenty acres of private garden overlooking Morecambe Bay.
All the bedrooms are ensuite with television and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a bar, lounge and restaurant. There is limited number of ground floor bedrooms and a lift to all floors.
