We stay just outside Grange over sands, a village on the edge of the Lake District National Park and Morecambe Bay.
During our stay we include excursions on Lake Windermere, a ride on a narrow gauge railway, travel through the dramatic Kirkstone Pass and enjoy the heights of scenic splendour travelling by small minibus across the Hardknott and Wrynose passes in the Lake District followed by a visit to the grounds of the 14th century Muncaster Castle, making this tour a chance to see the real Lake District!
Day 1
This morning we travel north with a lunch stop en route arriving at our hotel in time to settle in before our evening meal.
Day 2
After breakfast we travel to Bowness Pier where we join our boat for the cruise of Lake Windermere before stopping at Lakeside Pier. We join a steam train and then enjoy afternoon tea. On arrival at Haverthwaite we join our coach and travel to the Lakeland Motor Museum for a visit before travelling back to our hotel.
B, DDay 3
This morning after breakfast we travel through the spine of the Lake District and arrive into the Northern Lakes town of Keswick where we stop for a break. In the afternoon we travel to Pooley Bridge where we join our steamer for a cruise along famous Ullswater to Glenridding. We join our coach for the journey down the scenic Kirkstone Pass back to our hotel.
B, DDay 4
Today is the highlight of the holiday. We meet our minibuses at the hotel and are taken across parts of the Lake District by local guides showing us spectacular scenery. We then join the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway for a journey by steam train to Muncaster Castle where we enjoy this haunted castle and the hawk & owl centre. After a thoroughly enjoyable day we return to our hotel.
B, DDay 5
After breakfast we make our journey back to your joining points, with a lunch stop en route.

Hotel Details: The Cumbria Grand Hotel, Grange Over Sands
This three star hotel is set in its own grounds on the northern shore of Morecambe Bay. The hotel is traditionally decorated with original features, and it does have a small leisure centre. The bedrooms are en suite with tea/coffee making facilities.
The hotel does not have a lift but does have some ground floor rooms available and we would advise these to be pre-booked with our office.
