Norfolk, Trains, Boats & Carousels

This holiday visits one of England’s most picturesque counties and visits some of the area’s attractions such as Sandringham House - the much loved country retreat of the Queen. You can ride the Bure Valley and North Norfolk railways and enjoy a picturesque cruise along the Norfolk Broads. This holiday offers something for everyone to enjoy.

Day 1

We start from your joining points and travel across the differing English landscapes to Norwich and our hotel for our evening meal.


Day 2

After breakfast this morning we travel to Aylsham where we board the narrow gauge railway and travel the nine miles through countryside to Wroxham. Our coach will meet the train and take you to the quayside where we board our boat to enjoy a picturesque cruise along the waterways before returning to Wroxham and our coach.

Day 3

This morning we enjoy a great day out in Norfolk. Our coach will take you to Sheringham. We make a return journey along the Poppy Line between Sheringham and Holt which follows the ten mile route through delightful North Norfolk countryside designated as being an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. On our arrival back at Sheringham we rejoin our coach and travel onto the Thursford Collection which houses the largest collection of steam engines and organs, you can watch the mighty Wurlitzer play, ride the fairground carousels and enjoy the silent movies. There may be time to visit their "olde world shopping village" before we rejoin our coach and travel back to Norwich.

Day 4

A visit to Norfolk would not be complete without a trip to Sandringham House, so after breakfast we join the coach and travel to the much loved retreat of the Queen. The house was built in 1870, you can visit its main ground floor rooms which are regularly used by the Royal Family with their décor and contents remaining very much as they were in Edwardian times. After a fascinating day we rejoin our coach and travel back to our hotel.

Day 5

After an early breakfast we depart from our hotel and retrace our journey back to your joining points, with a lunch stop en route.

This four star hotel is situated on the outskirts of Norwich around three miles from its centre. The hotel’s facilities include a bar, restaurant and leisure club with indoor pool and gym. The hotel’s bedrooms are en suite with a television, complimentary Wi-Fi, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.
