This holiday offers to show the glorious history and countryside of this part of England.
We enjoy a visit to historic Bamburgh Castle which houses over 2000 artefacts, a trip to Linisfarne or Holy island subject to the Tides! View beautiful Alnwick Gardens with its Grand Cascade fountain and a boat trip along the River Tyne under some of its historical bridges.
Day 1
We join our coach for the journey to the north east of England and our hotel located in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne.
DDay 2
Today the morning is free in the city, before we travel to the Quayside in Newcastle to join our boat for the cruise along the River Tyne departing at 12:30. The cruise with a recorded commentary takes two hours as we travel under eleven of the Tyne's bridges including the Millennium Bridge, Tyne Bridge and the High level Bridge. We pass places connected with the famous Blaydon races. Afterwards there will be free time to explore the city or maybe walk across one of its bridges to the south side of the river to the town of Gateshead and visit the Sage or Baltic Buildings.
B, DDay 3
This morning we travel to the historic Bamburgh Castle located on the heritage coast of Northumberland. The Castle has been saved from ruin and includes over 2000 artefacts which include arms abd armour, porcelain and furniture. Afterwards we continue to ancient island of Holy Island or Lindisfarne linked by a causeway which can only be accessed at low tide. After an enjoyable day out we reurtn to our hotel.
B, DDay 4
Today after breakfast we make the journey to the town of Alnwick which is home to some impressive gardens. it is home to one of the country's most contemporary gardens with its Rose Gardens, Serpent Garden and the must see Grand Cascade. In the afternoon we continue to the Woodburn Colliery Museum where we discover the history of the colliery and view paintings completed by the Miners themselves.
B, DDay 5
We say farewell to the North East of England after our breakfast and begin our journey home arriving back late afternoon.

This four star hotel is located in the centre of Newcastle, with its rooms overlooking the River Tyne with its Quayside view. All the bedrooms are ensuite with television, and served by a lift.
Please Note: The bedrooms do not have walk-in showers.
