On this holiday we return to the “Garden of England” to enjoy the peaceful scenery and take rides on two delightfully restored railways. The Bluebell Railway was one of the first to be rescued and has become very popular. The other train journey offers very different scenery which runs along the Kent Coast, and still provides a valuable service to the locals.

Day 1

We depart this morning and travel through the English countryside to our hotel arriving with time to settle in before our evening meal.

Day 2

Day 3

This morning after a leisurely breakfast we travel to the pretty Kent town of Battle - well known for its connections to the Battle of Hastings. We continue onto Bodium and take a single journey on the historic Kent & Sussex Railway to Tenterden where on our arrival there will be time to explore the town before we return to our hotel in St Leonards.

Day 4

After breakfast we travel through the Kent countryside to the historic town of Rye with its clatterboard-clad houses, here we stop for a short break. We continue onto Dungeness a unique setting of fisherman houses standing on the largest expanses of shingle in the world and a site of international conservation. Here we join the narrow gauge railway for the ride on the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway to the town of Hythe, with its station on the banks of the Royal Military Canal. Hythe is an ancient "Cinque Port" town boasting a selection of general and antique shops.
