Scotland: Inner Hebrides
This holiday sees us visit the beautiful Inner Hebrides of Islands Mull & Skye.
On this holiday we enjoy some Scottish island hopping which offers an opportunity to view some of the best scenery that the west coast of Scotland has to offer. Based on both the Isle of Mull & Skye we find peace in the countryside and landscapes of Mull, whilst taking in the dramatic vistas of jagged mountains and sweeping moors on the Isle of Skye.
Day 1
We depart from your joining point and travel through the English and Scottish countryside to our overnight hotel in Dumfries. On our arrival the hotel will provide an evening meal.
Day 2
After breakfast we travel further into Scotland travelling towards the Kyle of Lochalsh before crossing the modern Skye Bridge and onto the island of Skye and hotel for the next two nights.
B, DDay 3
Today is our driver's day off, so we join a local coach and driver for a full day excursion around the island including a stop in the main town of Portree.
Day 4
Today after breakfast we take the morning ferry from Armadale to Mallaig on the mainland before we continue to travel south along the "Road to the isles" to Lochaline for the afternoon crossing to Fishnish on the Isle of Mull. On our arrival we continue to Duart Castle which is spectacularly positioned on a cliff top overlooking the Sound of Mull for a visit. Afterwards we travel onto the hotel for a two night stay.
Day 5
This morning we take a scenic excursion around the island of Mull and we include a foot passengercrossing to the legendary Isle of Mona. The island is the burial place of 48 ancient Scottish kings and there is the abbey originally founded by St Columba (Admission is not included).
Day 6
Today after breakfast we join the local ferry at Craignure and travel to the mainland and the coastal town of Oban. After a short stop we continue through the Scottish countryside to our overnight hotel on the Scottish/English border at Gretna Green.
Day 7
We say goodbye to our hotel and continue our journey back to your joining points.

First Overnight Hotel: Cairndale Hotel, Dumfries
This three star hotel is located only 5 minutes from the centre of Dumfries, and its bedrooms are ensuite with lift access to most rooms
Main Stay:
Dunollie Hotel, Isle of Skye
This three star hotel offers a pleasant waterfront setting with lovely views across Broadford Bay.
Their restaurant is on the lower ground floor which can only be accessed by stairs as there is no lift at the hotel. Also with this in mind the hotel does have some ground floor rooms available.
All the bedrooms are ensuite with television and have a tea/coffee tray.
Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa
This three star hotel has panoramic sea views and includes an indoor swimming pool which is free to hotel’s guests and Spa facilities which are chargeable. There is no lift at this hotel but has a very limited number of ground floor rooms which must be booked and carry a supplement. Due to the design and build of the hotel all bedrooms are accessed by a number of steps.
All bedrooms are ensuite with television, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.
Last Overnight: Gretna Hall Hotel, Gretna Green
This three star hotel was built in 1710 and is set in landscaped gardens close to the village centre. The bedrooms are ensuite with television and tea/coffee making facilities.
