This Scotland tour covers some of its popular attractions such as Loch Ness, a steam train journey, a distillery visit and even visiting a Reindeer Centre.

This NEW tour for 2017 explores the attractive scenery of Scotland covering some of its popular attractions such as Loch Ness, a steam train journey, a distillery visit and even visiting a Reindeer Centre.

 

Day 1

We depart this morning from your joining point and travel towards our overnight hotel at Gretna Green in time to enjoy our evening meal.

Day 2

We leave the hotel this morning and continue into Scotland travelling through its varied scenery stopping for lunch before arriving at our hotel in Grantown on Spey.

Day 3

After breakfast we join our coach and travel to Aviemore where we join the Strathspey Steam Railway for a ten mile journey through the Highland Scenery. After a lunch stop we continue onto The Glenlivet Distillery nestled deep in Speyside the heart of Scotland's whiskey making country. You can explore the turbulent history of Whiskey smugglers and sample the single malt that started it all. After an enjoyable visit we return to our hotel.

Day 4

This morning after breakfast we travel to the village of Drumnadrochit and visit the award winning Loch Ness Exhibition Centre, a truly fascinating experience revealing the legends and history of the this famous lake. We then join our boat for a scenic cruise on Loch Ness to search for your own glimpse of Nessie! We rejoin our coach and travel to Culloden Visitor centre and Exhibition which shows the story of this short but bloody battle between the Jacobite army and the Hanoverians for a Stuart King. Afterwards we travel back to our hotel and Grantown on Spey.

Day 5

Today we take a scenic drive through the Cairngorms National Park brimming with forests, rivers and moorland before we stop at the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre which is home to the only free ranging heard of reindeer in the UK. We return back to Aviemore with some free time for lunch before continuing to the foot of the Cairngorm itself and board the Funicular railway and ascend the northern slopes on a spectacular two kilometre journey.

Day 6

After breakfast we leave our hotel and begin our journey south with a lunch stop enroute before arriving at our overnight stop hotel at Leyland in Lancashire.

This morning we continue back to your joining points arriving back late afternoon.

This three star hotel in traditional character is situated in the centre of Grantown on Spey. This Victorian building has a welcoming lounge and has its own gardens. All its bedrooms are ensuite with television, Hairdryer and a welcome tray.
