Westonbirt Arboretum

With over 15,000 specimens from all over the globe Westonbirt offers the perfect setting to relax or explore!

The National Arboretum at Westonbirt has a renowned tree collection and a heritage landscape, plus you can enjoy a kaleidoscope of autumn colours.

The 15,000 trees come from the UK, North and South America plus Asia and were first planted in the 1850's by the rich victorian landowner to whom the estate belonged.

Its 17 miles of accessible paths the arboretum is split into three areas:

a, The Old Arboretum is a carefully designed landscape from the 1850's offering beautiful vistas and stately avenues.

b, The Silk Wood is an ancient semi natural woodland housing exotic plants throughout the landscape.

c, The Downs are grade 1 listed hosting rich grassland and is a great picknicking location.

All the areas offer a fascinating insight into floral and fauna.
