For 2025 we visit the Eastern side of England visiting the county of Essex, staying in the popular seaside town of Southend on Sea being home to the longest Pier in the country plus museums, gardens and beach. We include excursions to the fascinating RHS Hyde Hall Gardens, a visit to Tiptree Conserves enjoying their museum and a visit to the fascinating Combined Services Museum in Maldon.
Day 1
We join our coach and travel through the English countryside to Essex with a lunch stop on the way, before we arrive at the hotel and our evening meal in Southend.
DDay 2
After a leisurely breakfast we join our coach and travel to RHS Hyde Hall for a visit. There will be time to explore its beautiful hilltop garden, the Rose Garden, the Woodland and its Pastures and Meadows. There is also a restaurant on site to take a break.
B, DDay 3
After a leisurely breakfast today is a free day to explore the town, perhaps take a return train ride on the famous Pier, visit the Central Museum or Prittleway Priory.
B, DDay 4
Today we join the coach and travel to the town of Maldon where we visit the Combined Services Museum. Here you can explore different parts of the Museum including the SAS collection which shows the history and equipment such as uniform or Black Kit used during the raid to free the hostages in 1980, plus a good collection of the Home Front artefacts such as gas masks, ration books and other every day wartime items. Afterwards we continue to Tiptree to the Wilkin & Sons jam Museum where you can see the art of preserve making and how it's advanced over the years, and by watching a video display explaining how the fruits is grown and illustrates how traditional preserve is made. After an enjoyable day we travel back to our hotel.
B, DDay 5
This morning we depart from the hotel and Essex and travel back to your joining point with a lunch stop enroute.
