A new tour for 2025 sees us explore the Western coastline of Scotland offering awe-inspiring scenery and spectacular landscapes.

Another new tour for 2025 sees us explore the Western coastline of Scotland offering awe-inspiring scenery and spectacular landscapes. This tour takes you slightly off the beaten track with its remarkable unspoilt views and villages to view.

Day 1

We join our coach from your joining point and travel with a lunch stop enroute to Ayrshire town of Irvine for our overnight hotel and evening meal.

Day 2

After breakfast we join our coach and travel through the Scottish Highlands to our hotel in the village of Gairloch. There will be stops along the way to have lunch or a short break before we arrive.

Day 3

Today after breakfast we join a local coach and guide for the short hop to Inverewe Gardens, a garden like no other with amazing species that really shouldn't be growing there. Lose yourself in the lush setting before exploring its House, now a museum. The wider estate is also home red squirrels, red deer, otters and seals. Afterwards the rest of the day is free in the harbour town of Gairloch.

Day 4

This morning after breakfast we join our coach to sample part of the North Coast 500 route as we head to Ullapool. On the way we see the sheep inhabited Gruinard Island look at the fantastic views of the Loch and An Tellach the highest mountain in the area. We continue passing the magnificent Corrieshalloch Gorge known for its Victorian suspension bridge and the Falls of Measach before arriving in Ullapool. There will be time to wander and we have included admission to the Museum & visitor centre all set in stunning scenery. After an enjoyable day we travel back to our hotel in Gairloch.

Day 5

This morning after breakfast we join our coach for a full day exploring Wester Ross. We first travel along Loch Maree framed by the Slioch and Beinn Eighe mountain ranges to Achnasheen. From here we join the train and take a trip down to the Kyle of Lochalsh with spectacular views travelling for about 90 minutes. At Kyle of Lochalsh we rejoin our coach and travel to the small village of Plockton a picturesque village sitting on a sheltered bay with stunning views over Loch Carron and used as the setting for the 1990's TV series Hamish Macbeth. After a short break we travel back by our coach to our hotel in Gairloch.

Day 6

This morning after breakfast we join our coach and start our return journey back through the Scottish Highlands and the Central Belt of Scotland with a lunch break before we arrive at our overnight hotel, the Dryfesdale in Lockerbie. We include an evening meal and breakfast during our stay.

We say farewell to our hotel and to Scotland and travel back to your joining point arriving back late afternoon.

Hotel Information: (First Overnight Stay)

The Riverside Hotel, Irvine

This four star hotel is positioned on the East Cliff, close to its beaches, its gardens and the town centre. The hotel’s facilities include a restaurant and Bar, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. All the bedrooms are ensuite with television, hairdryer and Iron plus tea/coffee making facilities served by a lift to all floors.

 

Hotel Information: (Main Stay)

The Gairloch Hotel, Gairloch

This traditional three star hotel is built in a Victorian Baronial style in 1872. It is located in Gairloch and its facilities include a relaxing bar, lounge and restaurant. Due to the historical nature of the building the bedrooms vary in size and shape and there are steps to access the rooms and inside the hotel. It does have ten ground floor bedrooms and ten rooms have a step in shower, but only some rooms can be accessed by a lift.

The single rooms are true single rooms.

 

Hotel Information: (Final Overnight Stay)

The Dryfesdale Hotel, Lockerbie

This four star hotel is positioned in the countryside close to the town of Lockerbie. The hotel was built in 1762 and is still family run. Again due to the nature of the building the rooms will vary in size and shape and guests will encounter steps along the hotel corridor. The hotel does not have a lift but nine of its bedrooms have 15 steps to access the rooms but twenty of the rooms are on the ground floor. The bedrooms only have a shower over the bath. The hotel’s facilities include a restaurant, Lounge and Bar to relax in.
