One of the most popular resorts in Britain, Bournemouth on the South Coast boasts sandy beaches, floral gardens and is close to the picturesque countryside.

Located on the stunning Dorset coastline with its seven mile sandy beach, Bournemouth is one of Britain’s best known seaside resorts. The town has many and varied attractions for all the family and on this holiday we include visits to the inspiring Exbury Gardens, the historic Highcliffe Castle and travel on a boat across Poole Harbour followed by a train ride from Swanage.

Day 1

We join our coach from your joining point and travel with a lunch stop enroute to Bournemouth. When we arrive at the hotel we are welcomed with tea or coffee followed by time to settle in before our evening meal.

Day 2

This morning after breakfast we join our coach and travel through the picturesque New Forest to the lovely Exbury Gardens, well known for its Rhododendrons, wildflowers and herbaceous borders with time to explore. We also include a ticket to travel on their narrow gauge railway through their gardens and around the Dragonfly pond. After lunch we travel to the romantic Highcliffe Castle where we learn the fascinating story of how this lavish house was destroyed, left to ruin and then how it was brought back to life. After an enjoyable day we travel back to our hotel in Bournemouth.

Today after breakfast is a free day to explore the town, the beach and its attractions.

Day 4

This morning after breakfast we join our coach and travel to Poole Harbour where we join our boat for the scenic boat ride along the splendid heritage coastline to the seaside town of Swanage. After spending sometime exploring the town we then board the steam train for a nostalgic journey through the Isle of Purbeck countryside to Norden Station where we rejoin our coach for the journey back to the hotel in Bournemouth.

Day 5

We say farewell to our hotel and Bournemouth and travel back to your joining point arriving back late afternoon.

Hotel Details: The Ocean Beach Hotel, Bournemouth

This three star hotel is positioned on the East Cliff, close to its beaches, its gardens and the town centre. The hotel’s facilities include a restaurant and Bar, terrace and an outdoor swimming pool. All the bedrooms are ensuite with television, hairdryer and Iron plus tea/coffee making facilities served by a small lift to all floors.

Important Notice: Due to the style of the building it is necessary to negotiate steps to access the bedrooms, therefore it is not suitable for the use of mobility scooters. Also the restaurant is accessed by 15 steps or by the small lift.

 

Entertainment: Live entertainment is offered by the hotel on selected evenings.
