We visit the attractive North East of England with its history both ancient and modern.
We are returning to this destination for 2022 as it has been a popular choice with our clients in the past. We experience the history and heritage of the city of Durham a UNESCO World Heritage site where you can wander its winding streets, and step back in time to visit the stunning Beamish living museum of the North, with its trams and a lovingly rebuilt buildings.
Day 1
We depart from your joining point and travel north to County Durham and our hotel arriving in time to settle in before our evening meal.
DDay 2
This morning after breakfast we travel the short distance to the city of Durham where on our arrival there will be time to explore to city, the Cathedral, the Castle and its heritage. After an enjoyable day we travel back to our hotel.
B, DDay 3
After breakfast we travel to the Beamish Museum where life in the North east of England is brought back to life in this award winning museum set in 300 acres of beautiful countryside. You can take a tram ride through their rebuilt Edwardian town, or visit Pockerley with its manor house and railway. There is also a Home Farm to visit and you can wander around Pit Village and enjoy a ride on an old carousel.
B, DDay 4
Today we make our way to the Durham Dales, an area of outstanding national beauty. We travel via Weardale to England's highest village of Alston. We continue along Teesdale to town of Barnard Castle for short stop, before continuing to the nearby Bowes Museum. The museum is located in a french style Chateau with ornate gardens and is home to the unique mechanical silver swan.
Day 5
We depart this morning from the hotel and make our homeward journey with a lunch stop enroute.

This four star hotel is a Jacobean Manor House situated in a rural location surrounded by 26 acres of parkland. Its facilities include the Great Hall with an ornate staircase and lounges, plus it has a health club with an indoor swimming pool.
All the bedrooms are ensuite with television, tea/coffee making facilities and are served by a lift.
