This holiday visits a small island with big scenery which lies 60 miles from the UK Mainland. The island offers well preserved heritage with ancient sites, classic railways, mountain tram rides and even its own Parliament.

Day 1

We make an early start to travel to the port of Heysham where we join the ferry to the Isle of Man. On our arrival in Douglas we travel the short distance to our hotel.


Day 2

After breakfast this morning we travel the short distance in Douglas to the railway station where we join the steam train for the ride through the Manx countryside to the seaside town of Port Erin. We rejoin our coach and travel to the Cregneash Folk Village which shows how island life use to be like.

Day 3

This morning there will be some free time. After lunch we join our coach and travel to the famous Lady Isabella or Great Laxey Wheel. It is an iconic structure and it is the world's largest working water wheel.

Day 4

After a leisurely breakfast we join the coach and travel to Laxey. This is where we catch the mountain railway which takes us up the 2036 feet to the summit and then returning back to Laxey. We rejoin our coach and travel back to our hotel.

Day 5

We leave our hotel this morning and travel across the island first to the small town of Peel famous or its castle and the Manx Kippers. Afterwards we continue to the House of Mannanan which explains the island's history through its Museum.

Day 6

After an early breakfast we depart from Douglas by the ferry and travel back to Heysham. On our arrival we continue our journey back to your joining point.

Chesterhouse Hotel, Douglas.

This three star hotel is situated on the promenade of Douglas enjoying views over the bay, and a short walk from the town Centre. The hotel’s facilities include a lounge and bar and its bedrooms are ensuite with showers, Hairdryers and tea/coffee making facilities served by a lift.

NB: This hotel does not have baths in their bathrooms.

NB: There are four steps which need to be negotiated to reach the hotel reception.
