On this holiday we experience the history and heritage of the city of Durham.
We are returning to this destination for 2025 as it has been a popular choice with our clients in the past. We experience the history and heritage of the city of Durham a UNESCO World Heritage site where you can wander its winding streets, and step back in time to visit the stunning Beamish living museum of the North, with its trams and a lovingly rebuilt buildings.
Day 1
We join our coach from your joining points and make our way with a lunch stop enroute to our hotel in County Durham where we are welcomed by the hotel with tea or coffee.
Day 2
This morning we join our coach after breakfast and travel to the Beamish Living Museum where the North East of England's past is brought back to life. This award winning museum set in 300 acres of beautiful countryside where you can take a tram ride through their rebuilt Edwardian town, or visit Pockerley with its manor house and railway. There is also a Home Farm to visit and you can wander around Pit Village and enjoy a ride on an old carousel.
B, DDay 3
Today after breakfast we travel to across the River Tyne to the county of Northumberland and the historic town of Alnwick. On our arrival we first visit its famous Castle, home to the Percy family for over 700 years and still a family home today. Afterwards we will visit Alnwick Gardens offering the tranquillity of the Cherry Orchard, the excitement of the Grand Cascade, the intrigue of the Poison Garden and one of the world's largest tree houses. After an enjoyable time we re-join our coach for the journey back to our hotel.
B, DDay 4
This morning we join our coach after breakfast and travel to the largest city in the area Newcastle upon Tyne where on our arrival we meet our boat on the famous River Tyne for an enjoyable two hour river cruise showing its famous sights. Afterwards there will be time to explore the city centre before returning to our coach for the journey back to our hotel.
Day 5
We say farewell to our hotel and Eastbourne and return back to your joining points.

This four star hotel is a Jacobean Manor House situated in a rural location surrounded by 26 acres of parkland. Its facilities include the Great Hall with an ornate staircase and lounges, plus it has a health club with an indoor swimming pool. All the bedrooms are ensuite with television, tea/coffee making facilities and are served by a lift.
