This holiday offers a choice of following in the footsteps to the Balmoral Estate and Glamis Castle, the childhood home of the late Queen Mother. We also include a visit to the city of Dundee.

Day 1

We join the coach and travel north with a lunch stop enroute before crossing the border into Scotland to Blairgowrie and our hotel in time to settle in before our evening meal.

Day 2

After breakfast we travel through the Scottish countryside, marvelling at the spectacular mountain views as we pass through Glenshee and into Royal Deeside where we stop at the famous village of Braemar for a short break. We continue along the valley to the village of Crathie where we visit Balmoral Castle. There is a short walk to the entrance of the Estate and we include admission into the formal and vegetable gardens and the Ballroom in the Castle. (Access to other rooms in the castle are prohibited). Afterwards we rejoin our coach for the scenic journey back to Blairgowrie and our hotel.

Day 3

This morning we travel first to the Glamis Castle which is the childhood home of the late Queen Mother where you can admire the rich furnishings, tapestries and works of art. (There are plenty of staircases to walk up and down to explore the house). In the afternoon we travel to the city of Dundee made famous by its River Tay bridges, The RRS Discovery ship built for Captain Scott's heroic voyage to Antartica. Afterwards we rejoin our coach for the journey back to our hotel.

Day 4

Today we travel to the popular town of Pitlochry, famous for its Salmon Ladder and tourist shops. We continue onto Queens View a spectacular view overlooking Loch Tummel which is one of the most photographed views in Scotland. Afterwards we continue on the return journey at the smallest traditional distillery at Eradour where we enjoy a visit.

Day 5

We leave after an early breakfast and join the motorway network travelling south back into England and to your home departure points arriving back mid evening.

Holiday Details: Angus Hotel, Blairgowrie.

A warm welcome awaits at this hotel ideally located in the town centre of Blairgowrie. The hotel’s facilities include an indoor swimming pool and during our stay the hotel will provide two nights of entertainment. All the bedrooms are ensuite with television and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift to all floors but due to the layout of the buildings the majority of rooms are accessed by some steps.

NB: The hotel will provide two nights of live entertainment during our stay.
