A wonderful location in the centre of Scotland where the Highlands meet the Lowlands. Our central location means that excellent excursions can be taken.
On this holiday you can experience different transport methods, we enjoy a cruise under the three bridges of the River Forth, experience a train journey through the Lothian Countryside and visit the spectacular Kelpies and the amazing Falkirk Wheel.
Day 1
We join our coach for the journey north to our hotel at Cumbernauld where there will be an evening meal waiting for us on our arrival.
DDay 2
This morning after breakfast we make our way to the historic city of Stirling where we make a stop. Here you may wish to visit its old town or the castle which was once the residence of Scottish Kings. In the afternoon we travel through the Trossachs National Park, stopping in Callander at the Rob Roy and Trossachs visitor centre. After a day in spectacular scenery we travel back to our hotel in Cumbernauld.
B, DDay 3
After breakfast today we step back in time and enjoy a train journey along the shores of the River Forth on the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway. There is the Museum of Scottish Railways and a gift shop also to visit before rejoining our coach. We travel onto the new local landmark "The Kelpies", which are the world's largest equine structures and tower 100 feet over the local countryside. We continue to the nearby Falkirk Wheel; this unique structure is a feat of engineering and is the world's first and only rotating boat lift. We take to a boat this afternoon to experience this amazing canal structure. After an enjoyable day out we travel back to our hotel.
B, DDay 4
After breakfast today we travel to South Queensferry, where we join our boat for the cruise on the Firth of Forth. The trip offers spectacular views of the road and railway bridges offering a different perspective of them. Afterwards we join the coach and travel into Edinburgh and visit the royal ship Britannia. This unique vessel was home to the Royal Family when they travelled on Commonwealth trips abroad. After a unique day out we travel back to our hotel by our coach.
B, DDay 5
This morning after breakfast we say goodbye to our hotel and Scotland and begin our journey back to your joining point, with a stop en route.
