Splendid Snowdonia

This short break shows us some of the scenic North Wales countryside.

Enjoy this break to this part of North Wales and the majestic Snowdonia National Park. We include excursions on the Llanberis Lake narrow gauge railway, a trip to a local farm and farm shop plus the main attraction of taking the train on the Snowdon Mountain Railway and savour the breath taking views from its summit.

Day 1

This morning we join our coach and travel towards our destination, there will be a lunch break on the way and we arrive late afternoon at our hotel in time for our evening meal.

Day 2

After breakfast we depart the hotel and join our coach for the drive to Bodnant Foods which opened in 2012. It is a development of traditional 18th century farm which concentrates locally sourced produce and includes a bakery, Dairy & Farm shop. Afterwards we travel to the pretty village of Betws-y-Coed where we make a short stop before continuing back to our hotel in Caernarfon.

Day 3

After breakfast we travel the short distance to Llanberis the town located in Snowdonia National Park. Here we join our train for a return journey on the narrow gauge railway which travels along the lakeside. Afterwards we walk the short distance to the Snowdon Mountain Railway Station where we join our train for the memorable return journey to its summit where we can savour its breathtaking views. Upon our return to Llanberis we join our coach for the journey back to our hotel in Caernarfon.

Day 4

After breakfast we travel through the Welsh countryside to Lake Bala and the hamlet of Llanuwchllyn where we join our train for a scenic return journey along the banks of the Lake. Afterwards we rejoin our coach and travel back to the town of the Bala where there will be a short break before travelling back to our hotel in Caernarfon.

Day 5

We say farewell to our hotel after our breakfast and make our journey back to your joining point with a lunch stop enroute.

Hotel Details: The Celtic Royal Hotel, Caernarfon

This three star hotel is situated only a short walk from Caernarfon Castle and its Harbour. The hotels’ facilities include a leisure club featuring an indoor heated pool and sauna plus a bar and bistro. The bedrooms are all ensuite with television, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities served by a lift.

The hotel does not have any ground floor rooms.
