St Anton & Tirolean Dreams

On this holiday you stay in St Anton which is located 1300 meters above sea level in the Arlberg region of Western Austria. During the summer months the village of St Anton is a popular Tyrolean mountain resort, with its pretty pedestrianised main street full of shops, bars & restaurants and sweeping flower covered meadows rising up from the village centre. Our holiday includes some great excursions with a visit to the famous Swarovski Crystal World, a cruise on Lake Constance and a visit to the interesting Zeppelin Museum.

Day 1

We join our coach early this morning and travel to the port of Dover for our ferry crossing to Calais. On our arrival in France we travel along the motorway to our overnight stop at Metz.

Day 2

After breakfast we travel through Germany and into Austria to our resort of St Anton where we are welcomed with a drink by the hotel before our evening meal.

Day 3

This morning after our breakfast we join our coach to travel to Wattens and the popular attraction of Swarovski Crystal World. It consists of fourteen "Chambers of Wonders" created by world renowned artists and designers transformed by crystal in all its facets. Afterwards we travel to the historic city of Innsbruck known for its fine old buildings and the famous "Golden Roof". There will be free time to explore the city before rejoining the coach for the journey back to St Anton.

Day 4

Today is a day of leisure in the village. There are some great walks from the village or you can take two cable cars up to the Valluga Summit and enjoy a 360 degree vista of the mountain peaks. (The cable car is an extra cost).

Day 5

After an early breakfast this morning we travel to Lake Constance - one of the largest lakes in central Europe and into Germany and the town of Lindau, where we join our boat for the lake cruise. The boat will take us to the town of Friedrichshafen where we disembark and walk the short distance to the Zeppelin Museum. There are about 1500 exhibits showing the history of airship travel along with a replica showing what the passenger cabins were like, plus an exhibition presenting a broad range of artwork. After an enjoyable day we rejoin the coach and make our return journey back to St Anton.

Day 6

- This morning we depart St Anton on a scenic drive through the Tyrolean countryside via Pians and the Paznaun Valley to the pretty village of Ischgl. We continue on and over the Silvretta Hochalpenstrasse - a 22km road through thirty bends and reaching the height of 2032 metres before we descend into the Montafon valley and the town of Bludenz. We continue along part of the Arlberg Schnellstrasse back to St Anton and our hotel.

Day 7

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast as today is another free day to explore St Anton and its glorious scenery, possibly using your Summer Card.

After breakfast we say farewell to St Anton and travel back through Germany and into France for our overnight stay in Metz.

Day 9

We depart after breakfast and travel to Calais to catch the ferry back to Dover. On our arrival we continue along the motorway network back to your joining points.

Hotel details: Sport hotel, St Anton.

This four star hotel is located in the pedestrianised area in the centre of the village. The hotel offers comfortable accommodation with excellent facilities including an indoor swimming pool, sauna and a friendly bar where you can discuss the events of the day. All the bedrooms are en suite with a television, safe and hairdryer and are served by a lift. Meals are a buffet breakfast and a three course set evening meal.

The hotel will provide a “Summer Card” which entitles the holder to visit free various attractions in the region such as: one day use of all the local cable cars, free admission to the local museum and unlimited use on local bus services.

Please note a hotel bed tax maybe payable locally in resort at a cost of between 1-5 euros per person per night.

 

Overnight Hotel: Novotel Metz Hauconcourt hotel.

This is a four star hotel located on the outskirts of Metz offering a restaurant and bar. Our meals include breakfast and a set two course evening meal. All the bedrooms are en suite with a television and hairdryer.

Please note hotel bed tax maybe payable locally in resort at a cost of between 1-5 euros per person per night. This has been introduced by the Austrian Government for 2018.
